Saturday tours will begin at the plaza right outside The Islander restaurant. The address is 2441 SE 76th Avenue SE, Mercer Island, WA. Most tours will end very close to the start. Sunday Tour routes are still being determined. In either case, starting location will be provided in confirmation emails to customers.
What is the refund policy?
We will refund the entire amount of the tour if it is cancelled outside of 48 hours before the tour departure time. To cancel please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Alternatively, call or text message (206) 464-6343. The cancellation is verified once confirmed by email.
What happens if it rains?
The tour will still take place if it rains; please bring umbrellas and appropriate clothing. There may be stretches of the tour where we will be outside between tastings.
How much will we be eating?
The tour will have about 5-8 tastings. They are sample sizes of the fare at each establishment, so they are not meant to be entire meals. However, you should feel like you had something to eat by the end of the tour.
What if we have dietary restrictions?
If you have dietary restrictions please inform us (email@example.com) of this prior to the tour so we can work with our partners to best serve you. At some locations, alcoholic beverages are served, but can be substituted for non-alcoholic beverages. A number of locations do not admit people under 21. For family friendly tours, we encourage you to take the morning tour. If you have allergies, or dietary preferences, please advise us at least 48 hours prior to the tour (firstname.lastname@example.org). We will advise how we can accommodate you. Within 2 days of the tour, we cannot guarantee that we can accommodate requests. (Some but not all of the tour stops have gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options.)
Can we bring our pets?
Due to health restrictions we are limited to service animals with official licensing only.
How much walking is there on the tour?
The tour covers up to 2 miles, which totals about 40 minutes of walking at a leisurely pace. Tour routes vary, depend on the vendors selected, and the type of tour. Some tours have very limited walking (less than 1/2 mile) start and end in the same place; and others may be longer, and start and finish in different locations.
How far is the tour start location from Seattle or Bellevue?
The start location is in the downtown Mercer Island area, 10 minutes from either downtown Seattle or Bellevue, with no traffic. Unless roadways are under construction, or there is an airshow, there is rarely traffic getting to Mercer Island.
Where should we park?
Parking is generally easy to find in downtown Mercer Island. There is street parking throughout the downtown, on 80th Avenue and several streets. There are covered lots with public parking scattered through downtown. Our tours last about 2 hours, and most parking areas accommodate that. .
Is there Public Transportation?
The Mercer Island Park and Ride is a 5 minute walk from the start of the tour. Express busses to Seattle, Bellevue, and the East Side all stop at this park and ride. In a few years, Sound Transit will have a train stop at this same location. Transportation from parts of the island is limited but available. Please refer to Sound Transit for bus schedules. Lyft/Uber are always options and readily available.
Is the tour handicap and stroller accessible?
Yes! The entire tour is handicap and stroller accessible.
Can we shop on the tour?
Yes! Our partners were chosen for a reason - they are awesome! Please feel free to buy something for later or get more of what we just tried. Furthermore, many of our vendors have great websites and will ship. Some of our vendors have agreed to provide you with discounts.
Which languages are the tours offered in?
Tours are offered only English, but other languages may be accommodated if we have time to coordinate a guide with that language skill (please contact tasteof email@example.com if you have a tour request in a foreign language.)
